In the fall of 2022, the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) in partnership with uConnect Technologies, executed a six-month apprenticeship program for young IT professionals. The program was held in uConnect Head Office and provided training to over 10 participants from different districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Objectives
- To provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully manage and grow their freelance business.
- To help participants understand how to market and promote their services to potential clients
- To help participants develop their leadership skills, such as decision-making, problem-solving, and delegation.
- To guide participants in building a strong, high-performing team
Program Structure
The curriculum of the program was designed to empower the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan by equipping them with the necessary skills and experience to excel in the IT industry. The program covered a wide range of topics, including Web Development, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and other cutting-edge technologies. The training was conducted by experienced trainers and mentors from uConnect Technologies and PSDF, providing participants with the opportunity to learn and explore the latest tools and trends in the industry.
The alliance between PSEB and uConnect Technologies demonstrates their dedication to equipping the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan with the skills they need to succeed in the IT industry. They intend to continue their collaboration and hold similar training programs in the future, expanding the program to other districts.
