In an effort to enhance the technical skills of the youth in Chitral, uConnect Technologies collaborated with the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) Chitral to conduct a comprehensive one-month Training of Trainers (TOT) program. The program aimed to develop the skills of four highly-qualified candidates in Digital Literacy, Digital Marketing, UX/UI Design, and Graphic Design. The program was held from December 20th, 2022 to January 20th, 2023, and aimed to positively impact the future tech leaders in the Chitral region.
Objectives
The primary goal of the program was to provide comprehensive training to highly qualified candidates from Chitral. Upon completion of the training, the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) plans to establish a technology company in Chitral, where the trained candidates will act as trainers and mentors for the youth of the region, helping them to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the IT industry. Through this initiative, AKRSP aims to empower the youth of Chitral and contribute to the economic development of the region.
Program Structure
The program was conducted five days a week and lasted for eight hours per day. The schedule consisted of eight hours of hands-on work or mentoring sessions and four hours of self-study and practice. The trainees were provided with a comfortable and conducive learning environment, including a well-equipped workspace, internet access, refreshments, and lunch. They also had the opportunity to work closely with uConnect teams in their respective departments under the guidance of their department team lead. Additionally, uConnect Technologies arranged a specialized one-week communication and leadership training program to further enhance the trainees’ professional development.

The trainees were given extensive lectures, tasks, and opportunities for presentation and feedback, which helped them to gain a comprehensive understanding of the various technologies used in the IT industry.
